Use native flowers and greenery sourced from the grounds of Silo City as well as locally grown organic materials provided by the instructor. Students will learn how to express natural dye compounds found in the petals and stems of flowering plants and vines and imprint them onto pre-mordanted muslin for an organically "dyed" tapestry piece that will stay vibrant long after the snow comes back, as well as onto a smaller habotai silk square for an organically "dyed" sampler accessory after refining their technique that can be used as either as a framed piece or as a wearable accessory.
