Use native flowers and greenery sourced from the grounds of Silo City as well as locally grown organic materials provided by the instructor. Students will learn how to express natural dye compounds found in the petals and stems of flowering plants and vines and imprint them onto the wearable of their choosing (Uni-sex Cotton, Tunic tank, 15x30 Cotton Scarf). This class also includes a discussion of mordanting and larger natural dye processes, and discussion of best practices in handling and post-care expectations of hand dyed textiles.
